‘F1 won’t hurt Proton’s coffers’


SHAH ALAM: National car maker Proton Holdings Bhd said its Formula 1 debut next year will not drain its resources because its team, Lotus-Renault GP, will be financed by Group Lotus.

Proton chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh said Group Lotus, in which Proton has a majority stake, planned to spend RM74mil to RM99mil in advertising and promotions for Formula 1.
