Restricted residence provision to be re-examined

THE Home Ministry will re-examine the implementation of the restricted residence provision for criminals to ensure that the sentence is still effective even with the proliferation of modern information and communication technology (ICT).

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said there was a need to look at new approaches to tackle crime in a borderless world as methods that have been used for years to tackle crime might no longer be as effective.
