ARTIFICIAL reefs placed at various locations off Sabah’s coast serve a dual purpose, said Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Food Industries Datuk Bobbey Suan.
He said the reefs made from concrete blocks not only served as a habitat for marine life but also aimed at preventing illegal fishing activities using gill nets at designated areas.
