Ceiling price for low-cost homes

PRICES of low-cost houses will not exceed RM42,000 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM50,400 in Sabah and Sarawak to ensure people from the lower income group will have shelter, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Chor Chee Heung said.

Under the 10th Malaysia Plan, the Government planned to have 161,000 affordable homes. Of this, private developers would build 83,000 units while the rest would be built by the Government, he told Hee Loy Sian (PKR-Petaling Jaya Selatan) in a written reply.
