KUALA TERENGGANU: Skeletal remains, believed to be that of a woman, were discovered at a landfill in Kampung Gong Tapah, Batangan Marang here.

State Acting CID chief Superintendent K. Manoharan said police found a woman’s watch at the site.

No other item or identification documents were recovered.

Police believe the remains had been there for some time, said Supt Manoharan.

He said a team of pathologists from the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital here would determine the cause of death.

He added that police were classifying the case as sudden death until the outcome of the pathology report.

Supt Manoharan urged those with missing family members or friends to contact the nearest police station.
