Borneo timber giants donate just RM900 to 500 Penan fire victims


MIRI: Some 500 Penans deep in Kapit Division in central Sarawak lost everything when fire razed their two longhouses last week but two timber giants operating in the donated just RM900 to the fire victims.

Long Kajang longhouse, located deep inside a logging concession zone near the Sarawak-Kalimantan border, some 11 hours by timber road from Bintulu, was completed razed and many of the victims lost personal documents like birth certificates and MyKads recently issued by the National Registration Department’s mobile units.
