PONTIAN: A smuggling attempt off the waters here was thwarted with the seizure of more than RM100,000 worth of contraband cigarettes and the arrest of two Indonesian nationals.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of marine police personnel intercepted a speedboat some 1.2 nautical miles from Pontian beach at about 10pm on Friday.
