KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, the defeated candidate in the Hulu Selangor parliamentary by-election, claimed his petition to overturn the poll result will show that corruption had taken place.
His lawyer, Malik Imtiaz Sarwar, told the Election Court Thursday that promises had been made to voters in exchange for their support for P. Kamalanathan, the Barisan Nasional candidate who defeated Zaid with a 1,725-vote majority in the election on April 25.
