DEPUTY Speaker Datuk Ronald Kiandee rejected a motion by Zuraida Kamaruddin (PKR – Ampang) calling for the setting up a Royal Commission of Inquiry into sexual exploitation of Penan women and girls.
He said the request met the Standing Orders requirement that it was a matter of specific and public interest, but it did not need immediate and urgent attention as a national task force had been set up to address the matter.
