KUALA LUMPUR: A local Indian music academy, the Sangeetha Swara Laya, has perfected the rendition of national patriotic songs using traditional Indian music instruments like veena (string instrument), mirdhangam (south Indian drum) and tabla (north Indian drum).
The academy’s founder and principal, Hariharan Subramaniam told Bernama Sunday that songs like “Malaysia Berjaya” and “Satu Malaysia” would be compiled into a compact disc and distributed to various organisations as a goodwill gesture to foster national unity and understanding.
