PETALING JAYA: Just a day after a High Court reduced Tian Chua’s sentence of six months’ jail and RM3,000 fine to a RM2,000 fine for biting a policeman three years ago, confusion abounds as to whether he is still MP.
Even two veteran lawyers – Karpal Singh and Constitutional law expert Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Shad Faruqi – have differing views concerning the fate of the Batu MP. Many other prominent lawyers appear to have fallen on either side of the fence.
