Ex-PAS deputy president laid to rest

KUALA LUMPUR: Former PAS deputy president Hassan Shukri was buried at the Karak-Kuala Lumpur Expressway (Taman Selasih 2) Muslim cemetery in Gombak near here at 9.40am yesterday.

Earlier, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang led prayers at the PAS Dewan Tarbiah in Taman Melewar.

Present were PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department senator Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom.

Hassan died at the Selayang Hospital at 2pm on Monday, believed to be from a heart attack.

He leaves a wife, Hamidah Abdul Mutalib, and five daughters and a son. — Bernama
