Ex Hindraf leader briefly held for trying to hand memo to Najib


KUALA LUMPUR: Ex-Hindraf leader and ISA detainee T. Vasanthakumar was briefly detained Saturday while trying to hand Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak a memorandum asking for more JPA scholarships for Indian students.

Brickfields police said that Vasanthakumar and some others had shouted in Tamil to Najib when he came to launch the Sri Murugan Centre in Sekolah Vivekananda in Brickfields and the police had picked Vasanthakumar up as a precaution.
