KUALA LUMPUR: The mayor has been ordered to pay National Art Laureate Datuk Syed Ahmad Jamal RM750,000 for “vandalising” the artist’s sculpture, the first case of its kind in the country.
High Court Judge Justice Azahar Mohamed said that by altering Syed Ahmad’s sculpture without his consent the mayor committed “institutional vandalism.”
