KUALA LUMPUR: Facing flak from certain quarters in the MIC over his “extended” stay in the party, Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu got some relief when MIC Youth, Wanita, Putera and Puteri leaders pledged their support for him.
They backed his decision to step down as party chief only in September next year, saying the timeframe that he had set was in the best interest of the party.
