MUAR: Strong waves and westerly storms in the Straits of Malacca have damaged several pontoons supporting the Tanjung Emas jetty structure.
The floating jetty, built about eight years ago at a cost of RM300,000, suffered the damage on Monday and now remains submerged during high tide.
