PUTRAJAYA: The status of the Syariah judicial institution will be raised in view of mounting cases, especially those for appeal at the higher court, says Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom.
He said the move was in tandem with efforts to enhance the status of the civil court so as to encompass the needs of certain sectors like the rapidly expanding halal industry.
