May 13 gathering called off at PM’s behest


KUALA TERENGGANU: The controversial May 13 “Melayu Bangkit” (Malays rise up) gathering which was to have been held Wednesday is postponed following a directive from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Terengganu Integrity Institute director Arpin Deraman said he received a call from the office of Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said who said that Najib had ordered the gathering postponed on security grounds after getting input from the police.
