KUALA LUMPUR: The Solicitors’ International Human Rights Group (SIHRG) has welcomed the Suhakam inquiry report stating that the detention of five legal aid lawyers was unlawful but said it fell short in not recommending disciplinary action against the police.
In the report findings released on Friday, Suhakam said the detention on May 7 last year was “unlawful, unjustified and a violation of their human rights”.
