64 detained since cap on fuel sale to foreigners


KUALA LUMPUR: The authorities have detained 64 people and seized RM205,518 worth of petrol and diesel since the cap of fuel sale within 50km of the country's borders was imposed on Dec 16, 2009.

Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said of the 64 arrested, 18 were detained in Perlis, 38 in Kedah and eight in Kelantan, while the amount of fuel seized included 62,700 litres of diesel and 27,557 litres of petrol.
