Prime Minister's wife officiates "Selangkah ke Universiti" programme
KUALA LUMPUR: About 2,000 Form Four students will experience how it feels to step into the university under a special programme called Program Selangkah ke Universiti.
Bakti president Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor said the students were chosen from 100 schools throughout the country. The Prime Minister’s wife added that the participants were bright students and did not have any family member who had studied in institutions of higher learning.
“We hope this programme will give students a clearer picture of their goals and help identify their field of interest upon completing their secondary education,” she said at the launch of the programme at Universiti Putra Malaysia yesterday.
The programme is a joint effort of Bakti, the Higher Education Ministry and 14 public institutions of higher learning. Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, was also present at the launch.
