KUALA TERENGGANU: The minimal quit rent rate imposed on business premises by the Kuala Terengganu City Council since 1981 has turned into a bane for the local authority.
The low quit rent has hampered the council from allocating an increased budget to develop areas under its jurisdiction and it still has to depend on state government funds for its expansion programmes.
