Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong departs for Kedah


SEPANG: Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah has departed for Kedah on Saturday after having completed the duties of the King.

Tunku Abdul Halim, who is also Sultan of Kedah, left the VIP Bunga Raya complex at KL International Airport in a special aircraft at 11.30am.

He was accompanied by Sultanah Kedah Tuanku Hamimah Hamidun.

Among those present to see him off were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak dan his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his wife Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman.

Tuanku Abdul Halim has been carrying out the duties of the King while the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin was undergoing follow-up physiotherapy treatment in Germany from Jan 26.
