Conference of Rulers meets today

KUALA LUMPUR: The 220th meeting of the Conference of Rulers began at Istana Negara here Wednesday chaired by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah.

It was attended by the rulers of all the states except Kelantan, Pahang, Perlis, Terengganu and Kedah.

The sultans of Kelantan and Pahang were represented by their respective regents, Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra and Tengku Mahkota Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

The Raja of Perlis was represented by the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, the Sultan of Terengganu by the president of its Regency Advisory Council, Raja Tengku Baderulzaman Sultan Mahmud Al Muktafi Billah Shah, and the Sultan of Kedah by Kedah Regency Council president Datuk Seri Tunku Anuar Sultan Badlishah.

They were accompanied by their mentris besar and chief ministers except for Kelantan which was represented by Deputy Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yaakob and Sarawak, by its Planning and Resource Management Minister II, Datuk Awang Tengah Ali Hasan. -- Bernama
