TOKYO: The International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) has been directed to look into the reasons behind the higher cost of outsourcing car components, which is nearly 10% higher than that of Thailand.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said although Malaysia could be a hub and compete with other countries in manufacturing cars for export, cost remained an issue that was putting the brakes on the automotive industry players from entering the country.
