MIRI: Some 4,000 rural residents in three remote settlements of northern Sarawak, who have not had electricity, will soon get round-the-clock supply following the Federal Government’s go-ahead for disbursement of funds to construct micro-electricity generating schemes at their villages.
Folks from the Long Semiang, Long San and Long Beruang settlements in the Ulu Baram district some 300km inland from here, have become the first batch to benefit from the recent economic stimulus package.
