IPOH: The Government should be fighting corruption to help narrow the nation’s budget deficit rather than impose a goods and services tax (GST) on the people, said DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.
He said the proposed 4% GST would not widen the Government’s tax base as it was only capable of raising an extra RM1bil annually when at least RM28bil could be saved by fighting corruption.
