UN panel voices concerns on Suhakam’s status and KPI

KUALA LUMPUR: A United Nations sub-committee has recommended that Suhakam keeps its “A” status and the key performance index (KPI) for the commission to be dropped.

Also of concern to the Sub-committee for Accreditation (SCA) of the International Coordinating Committee of National Institutions for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights (ICC) was the selection of Suhakam commissioners, who are appointed on the sole discretion of the Prime Minister.
