PENANG: The cause of the purported disruption of the Penang Hill railway service has been traced to the failure of two switches, one that controls speed and the other of a censor at the upper station.
Political secretary to the Penang Chief Minister, Ng Wei Aik, said a contractor could only do temporary repair work on Monday night so that the train could bring down people stranded uphill.
