MIRI: Some 200 schoolchildren and 1,300 Penans living deep inside the Bakun region face safety risks daily because a recently-constructed 15m wooden bridge across a seven-metre deep river is about to fall apart.
The bridge across Sungai Linau, the only link with the outside world for the natives living in the Lusong Laku Penan settlement in Kapit in central Sarawak, is being eroded by rising river water.
