Community service for seat-belt offenders

KUCHING: Drivers and passengers in vehicles who fail to use seat-belts should be slapped with community service along with the maximum RM300 fine to raise awareness on the seat-belt ruling.

Sarawak Road Safety Department director Rano Aylwino Akat said the community service sentence needed to be implemented for positive results just as it was implemented in Singapore to prevent first time and repeated offences.
