KUALA TERENGGANU: Some 197 students from secondary schools and higher learning institutes in were caught for khalwat (close proximity) for the first seven months of this year, the state assembly was told Wednesday.
State Education, higher learning, Science, Technology and Human Resource committee chairman Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman said Dungun topped the list with the 55 khalwat cases followed by 39 cases in Besut, Kuala Terengganu (35), Marang (29), Kemanan(16), Setiu (8) and five cases in Hulu Terengganu.
