SHAH ALAM: The Department of Environ­ment’s readings of the Air Pollution Index (API) are determined by sophisticated equipment that are recognised internationally, said Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas.

Dismissing doubts expressed over the validity of the readings, he defended the department by saying that its API readings were reliable and that it had nothing to hide.
