KUCHING: Sixteen tonnes of rice are being sent to 13 Penan settlements in the upper Belaga area of Kapit division to help alleviate the food shortage faced by the community.
Kapit Resident Dahim Nadot said the rice was being transported by lorries from Bintulu after the original plan of airlifting it by military helicopter had to be called off due to hazy conditions.
