PETALING JAYA: A heated argument among the academic staff of Universiti Malaya’s (UM) Indian Studies Department on May 27 is the reason for the appointment of a non-Indian to head the department.
It is understood that UM vice-chancellor Datuk Dr Gauth Jasmon had said in a report that the department staff had argued among themselves over who deserved to fill the post.
