SHARM EL SHEIKH (Egypt): The First Ladies of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) should take the lead in raising awareness on the dangers of human trafficking of women for sexual exploitation and as drug mules.
Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, said that many of the victims were from poor families, citing 2006 statistics which showed that at least 80% of the 800,000 cases of human trafficking involved females.
