HONG Kong artiste Gigi Leung has received a marriage proposal from her French boyfriend Sly after three years of courtship, reported Nanyang Siang Pau and China Press.
Quoting sources, Nanyang Siang Pau said the 40-year-old Sly has asked the 33-year-old Leung to marry him in France next year.
Leung split with fellow artiste Ekin Cheng in 2006.
It was reported that Sly has set up a company and plans to settle down in Hong Kong.
The daily also reported that Leung had met Sly’s parents in France, but had yet to decide on the marriage proposal.
“We are looking for the best way to be together,” she was quoted as saying.
Leung’s manager was also reported to have said that her schedule was packed and that it was impossible to get married next year.
After breaking off with Cheng, Leung was spotted kissing Sly in a car after watching Madonna’s Japan concert in September 2006.
It was also reported that Leung’s mother was against the relationship and Leung broke off with Sly in May 2007.
However, they were seen together in May this year when Leung was promoting her Mandarin album in Taiwan.
Sly is said to be brushing up on his Cantonese and likes Chinese culture.
> Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) president Tan Sri William Cheng has urged the Government to relax regulations on the property sector to attract more foreign investment, reported China Press.
He said for deals involving bumiputra-owned properties and properties belonging to the Government exceeding RM20mil, approval must be obtained from the Foreign Investment Committee.
He said this at a dinner organised by the Kulai Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Saturday night. With the open policies in place, Cheng said this would help eradicate problems faced by non-bumiputra companies for years.
