PETALING JAYA: There is now a Chinese version of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s book Selected Letters to World Leaders.

The former Prime Minister attended the launch here last night organised by Popular Book Co. (M) Sdn Bhd at Sunway Pyramid

Dr Mahathir autographed 50 copies of the book for lucky buyers during the function. He and the book’s co-author Tan Sri Abdullah Ahmad later had a short question-and-answer session with 988 Chinese radio station host Jamaluddin Ibrahim. Dr Mahathir said that some of the letters that he had wanted to publish couldn’t be released due to national security concerns.

Popular Holdings Ltd chairman and managing director Chou Cheng Nyok said the book firm had organised an autograph session with Dr Mahathir during the launch of the original English version of the book last year.

The Chinese edition is being retailed at RM28 each at Popular bookstores nationwide.

Among those at yesterday’s launch were Dr Mahathir’s wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, MCA president and Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and Sunway Group chairman Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah.
