Car park liability decision welcomed

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federation of Malaysian Consumers Association (Fomca) welcomed the decision of the court to hold a car park operator liable for items lost from a car parked under its care, although there was a sign to say owners parked at their own risk.

Fomca secretary-general Muhammad Shaani Abdullah described the case as a "landmark decision" and hoped other car park operators would take note and provide better security.
