King and Queen visit Chile and Uruguay

PETALING JAYA: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah have left on a state visit to Chile and Uruguay.

The special aircraft carrying the royal couple took off at 12.30am yesterday from the Royal Malaysian Air Force airbase in Subang near here.

Their Majesties are scheduled to return to Malaysia on May 2.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his wife Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman were at the airport to see them off.

Also at the airport were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mej-Jen (Rtd) Datuk Jamil Khir Baharom, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek and Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said. — Bernama
