SC appeals against fund manager’s acquittal

KUALA LUMPUR: The Securities Com­mission (SC) has filed an appeal against the Sessions Court’s April 1 decision to acquit and discharge former Metrowangsa Asset Management Sdn Bhd executive director Mohamed Abdul Wahab for knowingly authorising misleading statements to be submitted to the agency.

In a statement here yesterday, the commission said the reports were necessary to ensure that licensed fund managers accurately account for the total funds they managed.
