PETALING JAYA: A power blackout in parts of Petaling Jaya and Bangsar caused traffic chaos for more than an hour last night. Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) said it was investigating the failure, which started at about 9.30pm.

A TNB spokesman said that the blackout was due to faulty main cables at the Phileo Damansara and Bukit Damansara sub-stations. Vehicles plying the highway in the affected areas were seen slowing down as the traffic lights had malfunctioned, too.

Motorists had to depend on their car headlights as the street lights were off too.

Power was fully restored at around 10.50pm.
