KUCHING: Students in a secondary school in Dalat, a small town in the Mukah division of Sarawak, have taken bullying in school to new heights by posting their antics on YouTube, the video-sharing website on the Internet.

The group’s action received wide coverage in the local media yesterday.

In the group’s video clip lasting three minutes, the victim, said to be a Form Three student in the residential school, is kicked, punched and hit with a kettle by a few boys still in their school uniforms at a dormitory in the hostel.

The boys continue to beat him savagely despite his pleas for mercy. One of the media reports stated that the victim’s family, from Kampung Penat, Oya, had lodged a police report.

Sarawak education director Dr Julaihi Bujang said: “It is a serious matter. We will conduct a thorough probe and take action.” — Bernama
