PETALING JAYA: Bargain-hunting travellers have until midnight today to enjoy the low fares and great deals up for grabs at the Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair (MATF’09).

Malaysia Airlines senior general manager sales Datuk Bernard Francis urged customers to take advantage of the fares and packages being offered by the airline and its travel subsidiary, MASholidays.

“Since the start of the fair on Feb 10, we have received overwhelming response,” he said in a press statement yesterday.

Despite the economic slowdown, brisk sales have been recorded by MAS travel agents in Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam, and the airline’s ticketing offices, he added.

The top five popular destinations are Sydney, Melbourne, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing. Among the low fares for a one-way trip are to Sydney (RM780), Melbourne (RM730), Guangzhou (RM350), Shanghai (RM550) and Beijing (RM600).

In conjunction with the fair, Master Card is also having a contest.

For bookings and enquiries, call 1-300-88-3000, log on to www.malaysiaairlines.com or call Malaysia Airlines ticketing offices in Malaysia.
