GEORGE TOWN: The Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) is calling on chief executive officers (CEOs) and top executives in the private sector to take a pay cut if their companies are undertaking cost-cutting exercises such as retrenchments, reduced working hours or voluntary separation schemes (VSS).
Its president Syed Shahir Syed Mohamud said they should set an example instead of just focusing on wages and the number of workers employed in their companies.
