KANGAR: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 210 mangrove trunks worth RM2,100, with the arrest of six Thai nationals yesterday.
The suspects, aged between 30 and 60, were nabbed in three boats near Kuala Perlis at 12.55am, MMEA enforcement chief First Admiral Zammani Mod Amin told reporters here yesterday. He said the mangrove trunks were found tied on either side of the boats to hoodwink the authorities. — Bernama
