BANGI: The Government will distribute 80 motorcycle helmets at every university and college from today to promote road safety before the balik kampung rush.
The Malaysian Road Safety Department (JKJR) and Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd, in a joint campaign, will also offer free 15-point checks for motorcyclists. Transport Minister Datuk Ong Tee Keat, who made the announcement, said the two-pronged move was aimed at instilling safe riding habits and proper maintenance.
