First child trauma response team set up in Penang

GEORGE TOWN: Penang became the first state in the country to set up the Child Trauma Psychosocial Response Team (CTPRT) initiated by the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef).

"We are the first in the country to have trained personnel who are ready to provide crucial psychosocial support to children who have been traumatised by events or natural disasters," said Penang Mental Health Association president Datuk Mary Ritchie said on Monday.
