SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Government will go ahead with its plan to give consumers in the state 20 cubic metres of water free every month from next month, and a tariff increase expected next year had no bearing on the matter, Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said.

He said Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) had no powers to determine tariffs and only the Water, Energy and Communications Ministry could make changes.
