MALACCA: An estimated 500,000 Malaccans, irrespective of race and social standing, are now entitled to open an investment savings account free of charge with Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) courtesy of the state government here.
In a move to encourage greater savings and to alleviate poverty, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said that the state will cough up RM5mil over the next five years for the purpose.
